I recently got a call that a car was broken at the intersection of Scottsdale Road and Shea. I showed up within about 15 minutes and it was a family with two young children. They had locked their keys in their car while it was still running. They had called two other towing companies in Scottsdale and neither showed up. So no surprise, they were thrilled to see me! I got their Ford Edge unlocked and they were hopping their car, kids in car seats and just getting ready to leave the intersection. That's when their car died and it wouldn't start up. I looked under the hood but I couldn't tell what was wrong with it. So we decided to just tow the Edge to Marshall's mechanic shop off of Indian School and 82nd St.
Once we arrived and got the car checked in for repair, the family called for an Uber ride home. Guess what, their Uber account was not working for some reason. So I ended up using my Uber account to get them home. Normally, if it would have just been one person, I would have just took them home in my tow truck but sense there were four people total, they would not fit. It was only a $12 fare and I told them not to worry about it. They promised they would send my the money if I gave them my address. So I did, really didn't figure I'd ever hear from them again and to my surprise I had a $100 check and gift card to Starbucks waiting in my my mail box just two days later. It was a nice reminder how there are still really good people in this world and I love my job!
